United for Mining Justice members and friends across Canada participated in ceremonies and gatherings to remember the dam break at Imperial Metals' Mount Polley Mine on August 4, 2014.
Students, faculty and staff from St. Stephen University in New Brunswick gathered at a waterfront park on the Saint Croix River Reservoir to pray for Quesnel Lake.
Gathered at Point Pleasant Park, Haligonians gathered to pray and remember local watersheds and Quesnel Lake.
Winnipeg's own water continues to colonize the Anishinaabe community of Shoal Lake 40 First Nation. Every citizen of Winnipeg should be paying a fee to contribute to the health and wellness of the community members because we benefit from their resources. The very resources that they have no access to. Day of Action to remember Quesnel Lake and the Mount Polley disaster. All water protectors from all walks of life can go to a river, smudge, pray with their pipe or semah, give the medicine back.
